My name's Bruno, I live in Florida, and i own a stingray(translucent orange). Oddly enough, however, i use ernie ball strings only on my fender jazz and ken smiths(sometimes rotosound) on my stingray! Wierd stuff.

I'm Joey, I have two StingRay5's, they sounded great with the factory strings, so I figured why not use the strings they were designed with. Until I see a lack of quality in the strings, I'll use the Ernie Ball Slinky 5 string set on them.

:D Hey! My name is justin and i live in Concord, CA. I own a 4-string sterling and I use super slinkies .45 - .105. I like their bright tone, but I think I slap too much because I always end every other week with a broken G-string. I even once broke my super slinky D-string, and i thought those were indestructible.:(

Hi! I´m from Buenos Aires, Argentina and i own a 1993 Ernie Ball Music Man Stingray, sunburst with a white pickguard. I also use Super Slinkies, and hardly break a string. I don´t think Funkymofo´s problem is a string-related issue, maybe you have to calibrate your bass or just install the strings right. I beat the hell outta my Stingray (slapping or just plucking) and haven´t break a G (or D) in years.

See ya

For my fretted stingray i use slinkys, for my fretless stingray i use roto flats. I don't even understand why the factory strings fretlesses with round strings. If i am spending that much on a bass i want the fretboard to last.
