    Colin,

How much time do you have?? How about a week!

You're in proximity (driving distance) to an unlimited number of music stores, with several GC's included. Don't forget the San Jose Guitar Center (@45 mins). I have fun just getting an itinerary figured out!!

In addition, if you're around here on Friday let's hook up and do some playin'!!

Not sure if you will still be around on Fri-Sun, if so you should register for email coupon at Genter Center. Friday is 15% off and Sat-Sun is 10%. I'm a couple hours up north, but the bay area is just great, so much to do. I recommend a drive through wine country.

All the above are good. There's a GC in the farrrrr east bay, too (Concord, I think).

Also, Bananas At Large in San Rafael (north of SF across the Golden Gate bridge) is outstanding for boutique pedals. Great staff, too. They carry MM basses, but I've never seen a MM guitar there...

Rocker is a pretty great store. Their MM inventory has been depleted by me and my firends though

My buddy scored a Black Sparkle Silo Bass there. I wonder how rare that is???

    What's your target?

Vintage in locked cases? Boutique basses etc or " I just need a new set of strings"
I've been told these guys have a cool selection. Gelb Music - Your Music Solution - Guitars, Bass, Drums, Keyboards, Amps, Effects, Drums, Hand Percussions, Pro Audio Recording, and Product Reviews Just south on Hwy 101 from SF, but I have not been there. If you go to San Jose check out "Guitar Showcase" where I took lessons in 1960's. They have some glass cases with old stuff.
I was hoping to find my spray can painted 50's P-bass there when I got back into playing recently. No such luck.
