Greg, Love the bass. Ice blue is a real cool color. Congrats on the first family gig. You will get absolutely no flack from me about the Jonas Brothers. I have a 12 year old daughter who is a big fan. Its nice to find a group I don't have to say no to for my daughter. I think its great they (you included) write your own songs. Keep the faith and enjoy the ride!

I'm a left hander who plays right handed, so I guess that makes me confused.

Well, I got in on this thread a little late but Welcome Greg! I love seeing players come to this forum who actually use the EBMM instruments to feed their families.

    Welcome Greg!

I must say that “burnin' up” is one of my guilty pleasures! I love the groove and the feel of the song. Did you play on that track? If so, I’d like to know how that tone was captured…

hey guys, just got back from Grammy rehearsals. I'll be using a 5-string stingray for this show and it sounds incredible. I rolled off about half the treble and got a nice blend of the pickups. Check it out if you can tomorrow on CBS.

As for the recording of Burnin' Up, the producer played moog bass for the track with some nasty distortions on it. For the live show, I use a POD with a similar setting to get the same effect with an actual bass guitar.

    Hope you are all well!

Wow, you got to play with Stevie Wonder. Some real good shots of you with the LE SR5 too.

    Hey Greg,

Next time you're in the Toronto area, shoot me an email and I'll come down and we can set up a photoshoot for you and your gear.

    Greg's Musicman bass

Hey, choice bass dude! Did you say you were from the jonas brothers? Cool. Hey, I'm really sorry, but I didn't actually know the jonas bros had a bass player!! But that's okay. What's your favourite song/style?

Kids of the Future is an extremely well written song. I figured that out for a student and thought there's no way these kids could have written that. Did they really?

I realize this is pretty short notice, but as GWDavis28 pointed out, we will be on Saturday Night Live tonight. I know (and hope) that most of you already have plans for valentine's day, but if you find yourself near a TV at some point, check it out!

As for Kids of the Future, it's based off the song "Kids in America" by Kim Wilde. All of their other songs are written by them though. Check out a song called "Shelf." It's probably one of my favorites off of the Jonas' most recent album and has a really cool Weezer vibe to it and great guitar riff.

Hehe, yeah my kids had that Jonas Brothers CD playing non-stop.

I told my wife, "You know, this is pretty good."

And I know they didn't write it, but "Year 3000" is a great song.
