Johnny Hiland is incredible; the guy just "smokes." I watched some other clips featuring Johnny; WOW! The guy can play anything; any style; any technique! He knows what and how to play for each different and specific tone and genre.
In the country realm, his phrasing is often times reminiscent of a pedal steel which is very difficult to pull off on a "standard" guitar especially one that seems to be in standard tuning. This guy's brain has special "wiring."
He can go head to head with anybody!

The relationship between this fabulous artist and the equally fabulous EBMM products makes me say, "OF COURSE!"

Can somebody please tell Johnny that I want to "jam" with him?

Casey Ball kicked ass with a cool Classical guitar peice at the Golf tourney, I spent some time with him there, he was very down to earth and cordial! He is very intelligent and can obviously play, I was shocked when he said he had only been playing classical a very short time...All of the Ball Kids seem to have the Noggins on good and straight! Not sure what happened to Sterling but thats another post!!! LOLOLOLOL

Johnny is sure proud to be playing these guitars and this new CD is about to happen in Johnnys own studio, Timm Biery of Danny Gatton and Nils Lofgren Fame has Joined the Band and we are sure stoked to have him. This is the year of Hiland!!! trust me, this is going to be the year that Johnny Hiland steps into the Limelight, We will posting the new songs on his site OFFICIAL JOHNNY HILAND SITE - NASHVILLE SUPER PICKER Just come in check it out...We have our new Live CD just about ready to go...It will be out before Summer!!! LIVE IN JOHNSTOWN is Johnnys first live CD and its a smoker!

The New Studio CD will feature the new Lineup and is a stunning return to Chiken Pickin with serious attitude! The CD will have new songs from Hiland and freinds, besides Timm Biery on Drums we have Fred Newell, from Waylon jennings Band on Steel Guitar!

The Johnny Hiland article in the GC mailer is a great read. He really seems to be a good-hearted, totally down-to-earth guy. Oh, and an absolutely amazing picker!

I met Johnny Hiland about 2 years ago when he was promoting those EastCoast guitars. He visited a local store and we chatted a bit about my old friend Danny Gatton (RIP-he was the greatest!). Johnny was just as nice and friendly as could be, and of course we all know how he rips it up when he plays! I can't wait to see/hear him when he comes back to the Chicago area promoting Music-Man - I'm sure he'll sound better than ever!
