Hey drT, your LE 07 Blue Dawn HH StingRay was completed on 5/29/07 (gotta share this info with the folks) and the body wood is ash, as are all current StingRays, StingRay 5s and Sterlings. Nice!

    All reet!

I gave Rod the info on it a year or two ago, but was wondering what other info there might be floating around on it - body wood, what dealer it was sold to, etc. I'm pretty sure the neck is nitro, and curious if the body might be as well - has plenty of checking on it. Had it for almost 20 years now! Thanks.

The body is probably nitrocellulose lacquer. The body wood is most likely Poplar, but it could be Alder or Ash. Sorry - we just don't have any exact dates from that period. As you probably already know, Gavin's website is probably the best resource for that: Home - Musicmanbass.org, Musicman Bass.org, Musicman Bass (This website is not monitored, endorsed, or supported by Ernie Ball Music Man or its employees) Have to throw the disclaimer in there -

    Cheers Dan.

    It's a very light SR4 - nice tone though!

Thanks for the info! It's very non-Ash sounding, so could very well be Poplar.

Gav's site lists one with a very close number that was completed around then....

    Made almost on my birtday!

Thanks for doing this for us. A PITA for you, but it's one of those little things that makes us knuckleheads love EBMM.

    Thanks!

Oh, you know, I never checked on my Trans Red Stingray E04006. I bought it from GC in '98. Got the scoop on that one? Thanks again.

    Hi Dan -

Man, you must be the hardest working person at EBMM. BP should give you a raise!

Anyway, I just picked up a Candy Apple Red Bongo 4H. The serial # is F14024. Any info would be appreciated.

I have a Carbon Blue Pearl Sterling 4H coming too. When it gets here I'll be back.

    Thanks.
