So after a few moths I finally finished the restoration. Re fret, stripped off red paint and did a light walnut finish, polished up all the hardware. Only replacement parts were 3 new gold knobs. It's not a perfect restoration but im pleased with it! I can now play it at last!!

That's gorgeous! What did you do about that crack?

So, close ups of the neck/fb repair?
bovinehost: Yes, I do agree with that, but if there's nothing wrong then there's nothing wrong.
Beth: I would compare Bongo to Tommy Lee Jones. Bad a$$ and just hot in a weird way...
cheezewiz: They should take their lace thongs off and play bass.

    The nut repair....

    1977 Stingray Gold hardware!!-img_5346-jpg

Here is a better pick of the Nut repair.
I used areldite and clamped up the nut area of the neck. When I sanded it down I then used wood glue and some wood dust to fill the remainder of the crack but didn't work as intended.
Still thankfully the truss rod note functions perfect and only needed to be tightened slightly.
It's got Elixer Coated 40's 100's on it a little lighter than I would like but I want to give the neck a little less tension.
Hopefully the brass Nut I made should help.
Need to flatten the 12th feet on the G string as there is a slight buzz but other than that it plays great and sounds like only an old stingray dose!
    Love it.
Not got a gig until next week and looking forward to taking it out..!
