I own one of each. The neck profile is very similar. If there are differences, they are very minute...at least as far as I can tell. The main difference is in the finish. The neck on the Caprice is a Satin Urethane finish as opposed to the Gunstock oil and wax blend that the Sterling and Big Al use. The Sterling/Big Al neck is the best bass neck I've ever played. However, the Caprice is very nice and fast as well.

As time goes by, I'm gravitating more and more toward the passive bass sound and I was excited when EBMM announced their new passive basses. I love my Caprice and I would definitely recommend trying one out!

The Sterling/ BA neck best for me also.

Caprice radius ( 7.5) not as flat as Sterling. I can live with a satin finish.

If Sweetwater gets in a Caprice that weighs in at 8.5 lbs I may go for it.

Bass Central has a blue one and a black one in stock right now that they have listed as weighing 8.5 lbs.

My thoughts exactly on the Sterling neck. Anyone know if a fella could throw a Sterling neck on a Caprice? If so, I'd totally buy a Caprice and never need or want another Fender, etc. again. Pictures look like maybe, but I don't know.
