    Bound bodied MM Sabre

I saw this picture on another forum which seems to show Michael Steele playing a bound body Sabre. I'd never seen one before and wondered if it was a custom model or made by another manufacturer?
    Thanks

My guess is that it could be a very early Ernie Ball Bass...it has the Pre-EB Sabre bridge but also has four position markers past the 12th fret which is an EB feature. I've also seen one or two early Sting Rays with bounded bodies.

That is VERY cool - in looking closely, the binding appears to be the chequered style a la older Rickenbackers...
I agree, a binding option similar to what G&L does would be very cool on a 'Ray bass...
