I just got a 2013 Fretless Sterling HH in a trade for my Blueburst Stingray (that I loved) but I really wanted a MM Fretless to go along with my Classic Ray in this new 80's band I have been drafted into. I was holding out for a Stingray 4 H unlined fretless but could not resist the urge to trade for this lovely beast. I must say that I really think the multiple pickup configured settings lend themselves greatly to a fretless.... to tonal and vocal nuances they lend themselves to just jump out on a fretless.

I need to join more bands to justify buying more basses! Do they make Classic Series fretless basses?

There is nothing I love more than an unlined fretless bass. Rock some flat wounds for some super slippery fun. Congrats!

    Congrats on the new bass!

Have an HH sterling fretless on order.

Was thinking would swap necks with my Hp fretted sterling.

Who knows, may try the HH and like the multiple pickup options as much as you.

    .........
A swap I've done more than twice ;-) Silly peeps buy piezo
basses with frets , then they wonder why [good question,
there, too ... ], and then they sell it and I buy it just to get
the piezo bass for a neck swap to FL ... leaving me to sell
off the plain mag-only fretted bass. Without frets, one is
NEVER left wonder what the piezos are all about. Too bad
all piezo MMs are discontinued :-(

Agree it is too bad the piezo option has been discontinued. Only way to get a piezo these days is used unfortunately. Would have loved to find an unlined Sterling with piezo, but only piezo one I came across had frets.

But I do like the piezo still on a fretted bass. Especially on the Bongo.
