    Hardware color swap?

Been a player of EBMM basses for a long time now... in fact, my StingRay 5 just turned 19 this past Saturday (bought it new at my local Sam Ash)... and I've always understood that how an instrument leaves the factory is how it will always be, i.e. if it leaves with chrome hardware, it will always have chrome hardware.

In my recent searching, I've seen at least 2 instances where people were selling basses with the hardware swapped for a different color (black instead of the factory chrome), and in both instances, the seller claimed that they were able to get the new hardware from EBMM directly, albeit with sending the original hardware back, per usual. To my knowledge, both were just normal dudes, not artists or anything. Are they pulling everyone's leg, or did EBMM relax the policy on hardware a bit? I've wanted black hardware on my Desert Gold Bongo since I bought it, but found no way or doing so without taking a fairly big financial hit. Thanks y'all!!

Best way to find out would be to email directly. As it's a 2003 model though, it might not be possible, depending on what changes have been made with the current hardware.

That’s good to know. It did used to be very hard to find hardware to the point of stealth’s being used as donors. Expensive way of going about it but was the only option
