Smile NGD: Albert Lee times two

    Guys,
it's not a secret that I have a soft spot for the AL which is IMHO the greatest singlecoil equipped guitar ever built. Having said that, I was a bit gunshy at first to get one of those rosewood necked HH Alberts...until now. Timing was right, the opportunity was there so I had to jump on this one...and there's not a single thing I don't love about it!

Mint green HH Albert Lee with vintage white pickguard, every bit as much a true AL as the SSS and MM90 versions. In fact I'm (pleasantly!) surprised with how much it retains the AL vibe and sound while taking it to another dimension with a lot more hp, really an awesome addition to the lineup that deserves every word of praise. Pics can't really capture how creamy and great it looks in natural light but I tried my best before the burning midday heat...

If you took a look at the thread's title you may have already guessed that there must be one more to come...

I was lucky enough to snag an orig. '93 pinkburst Albert Lee in quite decent condition given it's age. This one is the lightest guitar I ever held in my hands, even lighter than the Gold Roller. The setup was screwed and it needed/still needs some TLC to buff out a few scratches but once I set it up it played like a dream.

You're partly right Jeff, I took a bucketload of pics and they all turned out way more yellow-ish than the guitar is (except for the ones that turned into trans red thanks to the flash...).
On the other hand the pink portion has slightly faded (especially on the front), giving it a more sunburst-like appearance (I took the bridge and pg off...you can clearly tell that it faded).

Incredible, isn't it? I don't know where that comes from but it's so light and still perfectly balanced.

Congrats man. It is a fantastic Axe, and definitely more versatile than I'd expect it to be. A great companion for your light pinkie (mine is the same way, btw).
