    Ebmm evh vs axis ?

Do they both have the same size frets? Height and width wise? Are they exactly the same?

There are only 5 differences in the guitars, 1. Pickup switch location, 2. Beveled Back on the Axis, 3. The EVH has off set saddles on the bridge, 4. The neck is a little 1/32 smaller at the neck joint which makes the EVH feel a lot better than the Axis. 5. The name on the headstock. The Evh Dye was a lot different to as it didn't have sun block in it and thats why the EVH's fade, especially Purple, Black and the Blues.

jackson2112 pointed out all the differences.

if you have never played an EVH before, you will like the axis neck.
to me the axis neck / fretboard is a bit too large on this guitar, but this must be because i play an EVH model since the mid 90s and my brain is so familiar with that feeling on this kind of guitar, that every time i pick up an Axis model i doesn´t feels right to me.

1/32 was added to keep the high e from slipping off the fretboard...you have no idea what a nightmare that was in cs when they were in production.

I'll second that... the EVH's I've had drove me mad because of this... the new only-slighty-wider neck of the Axis makes the world of difference!

I second that, I actually needed to slim my ASS down a little bit more and used the Graph-Tech 2-3/16 saddles, made it 1/16th of an inch narrower.

I've pulled the high E off while playing my evh, but if you are aware of the potential for that, you can be careful not to pull it down too far. It's not a problem on the axis neck at all.

I love my EVH. The best neck ever. However, the narrow size did come back to haunt me. I kinda wore the neck down from playing it so much and now the E string REALLY slips off if I'm not careful.

I solved my EVH issue by loosening the two locking nut retainer bolts and moving the nut just a bit more toward the Low E. On mine there was enough play in the two holes drilled through the neck to allow this slight adjustment. It works great! Now the low E is a bit closer to the edge but I'm not really bending the low E very much anyway.
