Thinking of changing pickups in my Y2d

Not all too sure yet if I reall like the pickups I'm my y2d , I'm just not digging the sound as much as I did its too something I just can't pin point it yet. So I was thinking about changing them so I was thinking dimarzio paf pro in he neck and maybe a super distortion in he bridge but still not really sure.
Any ideas you guys can give me will be much appreciated.

I may be going for the Tone zone/Air Notron set. Let me know if you are selling your morse pups cause that was my second choice.

I had the same experience. I didn't swap pickups though, I switched to 500k pots. There was a subtle, yet definitely noticeable difference in the tone. The attack was more pronounced and the guitar wasn't quite as smooth sounding. The overall voice, though, remained the same. I still switch the pots back and forth, from 250 to 500, from time to time depending on how I'm feeling at any given point in time.

I switched to 500 it seemed to get hotter and more brittle I think well to my ears anyway

I definitely heard hotter... Not sure about brittle though, I guess I just heard a sharper attack. We might be describing the exact same thing though.

It's possible I might go back to the 250 and try that again. Then go for some new pickups.

I like the stock pickups, but I was going for more of 'my' sound in my Y2D. I put a Suhr DSH+ in the bridge and DSV in the neck. Sounds so good and covers everything I need. They split really well too. Check out some demos of the suhr pickups. They really make amazing pickups and their other stuff is top notch. Now whenever I am able to obtain the new blackburst Y2D, that will remain stock. To me there is nothing like that neck pickup. So vocal, smooth, yet defined and punchy. That I definitely miss.

I like dimarzios myself. The prices are not bad, sound great and a lot of choices. If I were you, I would look into the AT1 for the bridge. Probably the best sounding bridge pickup I've heard. Andy Timmons gets so many beautiful tones out of that pickup. But overall had great tonal characteristics.

How about a DiMarzio Virtual Vintage Heavy Blues 2 for the single coil.

They describe it like this: "This is not a polite pickup, and the closer it’s adjusted to the strings, the more raw it gets".
