    Plating on Bridge

Is it common for the plating on the bridge piece to rub off? I have a Majesty (Polar Noir, so I believe it's black pearl plated).

I've had the guitar now about 2 weeks and only have been playing it moderately. It seems that where I rest my hand near it for palm muting looks like it's no longer plated - you can see the steel color.

I'm sure it doesn't effect performance at all - just wondering if this is common?

Yeah, I just did another search on it and have some hits. Asking Customer Service about it. I kind of wish I went with the Majesty Artisan in some ways - but I guess this could happen with gold plated hardware too. I just didn't expect something like this to happen so soon.

Yup, have read a similar thread here before. Before buying my latest Ball, I did have an eye for the gold hardware too, and I did get in touch with CS about it and I do remember them telling me it's stable.

As already said, You should get in touch with CS.

The Plating is a Problem but if you have an issue with it please get in touch with the Customer Support. I had the same issue and the EBMM Support is the best in the world!. I myself got some replacement parts that I store to be able to restore the initial Beauty of the Instrument. I did not install any of them as a perfect instrument does not get better by fixing small visual issues.
The Majesty is the Best Guitar hands down I have ever owned and even being initially upset about it, it does not change the fact that they are just perfectly playable. Some might say that it adds character, I don't agree but as long I can fix it, not an issue anymore. Still thinking about adding an protective acrylic cover to the replacement parts but as I said - they are simply perfect instruments and any fix would just be something very minor. Hope that helps...

I've had my Artisan Majesty since mid-October, and starting noticing ware around December. At the time I was playing in a musical 5 days a week, spending a lot of time on the guitar. It's also on the toggle switch. But to be honest, it doesn't really bug me -- the guitar is supposed to be played and the ware on the hardware shows it. I'll only be spending more hours on the instrument. I'm definitely one of those "add character" people...

As an aside, I have a concert classical guitar (that's my "day job" -- concertizing classical guitarist) that I've been playing for over 9 years and that thing looks like its been beat to hell! I've worn the finishing off the back of the neck in two spots, to the point of feeling bare wood. I've even had several cracks in the instrument repaired and lots of "dings". Still sounds great, that's all that matters for me!

    Hi.

Same thing happened to my Majesty Arctic Dream 7. Got it end of Jan this year. And last week, I discovered that the plating on trem cover and knobs, and a bit elswere on trem itself wore off, even where I just never put any hands. this is what suprising me.
But this beauty is a dream to play. Sounds really great.

I sent an email to CS last week. Waiting for their support.

I thought my bridge was worn. It was dark and tarnished looking because I rest my hand on the bridge. Same as all the chrome pieces, but I took a cloth and buffed it back to shiny chrome! Give it a try

On Majesty, the hardware is not chrome. It's black pearl platted. But buff the trem and knobs could also be a solution...
But this is not the deal.

I would never suggest buffing the black plating, it will ruin the hardware even harder! Black or gold plating is not the same as chrome....

The solution is simple: i use a wristband, so i don't touch the bridge plate

I'm just suggested what I did. Maybe they can post pics of the bridge. My bridge wasn't corroded as to say flaking or crumbling just looked blackened.

Here's my bridge after taking a soft cloth to it. You can see near the saddles where the discoloration I was referring. So does this mean my plating erode and then I simply wiped it off? If so, that seems poorly plated. However I think the bridge looks good as new. Am I wrong?

I'm not sure this is normal to get this kind of issue with this kind of high quality guitar. Some of you maybe think this is not a problem because it's not indeed change anything to the sound, but I think nevertheless that the process of plating the hardware is a bit light. Never had this kind of issue so fast with my other guitars (some of them are more than 18 years old, indeed the plating colour gone, but just a bit on volume knob and trem, but after many years). My Majesty is only 2 months... and I've got the same as what you have on your pictures. But did not buff the trem cover. Same issue on knobs as well.
Again, I sent an email to CS, 2 times already, but no answer on this issue yet.

Seems like the majesty uses standard chrome wich is then made black in some way. It really shouldnt wear of so easy. Cs should really look into this....
