EBMM JPXVI Tremendous Axe, no piezo?

What a great guitar, but why not equipped with a piezo system?

12 custom models including the Nomac, and the JPXVI is the only one without a piezo system =(

The thing about EBMM and JP is this - whatever JP wants is what gets made. At one point that if he decided he preferred 10 gauge strings, the factory put 10s on all the JP guitars. If he changed his mind and preferred 9s, the factory put 9s on the guitars. In fact in general with EBMM the guitar that gets made and that we buy in the stores is identical to what the artist really uses, whether it's a Luke, Morse, Albert Lee, Petrucci, Valentine, or St Vincent. And no changes are made without their OK. When recent limited editions of the Luke, Morse, and Petrucci were offered with maple fretboards, they all gave their thumbs up first.

So the answer to your question is almost certainly this: JP wanted a Floyd Rose with no piezo on the JP16 and that's what's being made.

I understand the reasoning, and personally I applaud JP's choice to provide all the fans with a bolt-on version of the guitar bearing a Pro Series 1000 (incredible bridge). Sincerely confused with all the people who complain so strongly about this change.

In any case, my original question more accurately put would be: Is the Floyd Rose necessarily incompatible with the piezo system? Isn't it possible to equip the Floyd bridge with the corresponding piezo saddles? Or maybe that would be too much of a trouble and time consuming?

No need for a definitive answer of course, and thanks a lot for your original reply DrKev =)

Probably. It would certainly have required engineering new saddles, as Music Man use a Fishman system and they don't offer a FR version. Piezo Floyds do exist - there is one that was made by Floyd Rose in cooperation with Graphtech, but using that would probably mean redesigning the entire piezo system.

Simple. Just install another guitar hanger on your wall and load it with any of the other JPs with piezoelectric. In the end you will have more than one EBMM.
