Not sure if anyone has already seen this. Calling dibart77!

Hmm. Although weird that they call it Amber... Amber is gold. This clearly is brown to me. Maybe Amber stain over roasted maple --> brown.

I wonder if it's weird lighting or a filter. This trans gold looks brown too?

They have 4 other anniversary Axis but they all look brownish vs amber.

The back looks definitely amber to me, the rather brownish top comes from the roasted maple underneath.
    The description says:
"These specially selected instruments feature african mahogany backs, roasted AAAAA quilt maple tops and a Willcutt exclusive Roasted Amber finish."

    So dibart77 is right.

Too much brown for me. I almost wish they'd just done a clear over the roasted quilt, though I don't know if that would have popped the grain very well. That just looks very muddy to me.

    Hey guys,

The color is trans amber stain over roasted maple top, the amber shows on the back over African mahogany.
Stainless steel fret wire 0.047" x 0.104" a bit wider than standard Axis wire(0.095")but the same height

Imagine yourself eating a Kentucky Hot Brown Sandwich and the color will make sense!

More models to come for this run

Darn it. These look tempting. I’d love an Axis with stainless steel frets and the Floyd, but I wish I could get it with the Trans Gold quilt and matching headstock. Not being a dealer, does anyone know if this is possible? If not I might have to go with one of these, or try to order a standard Axis and refret it one day.
