Tang on random strings at random frets

Just switched strings on my electric (have done this dozens of times over the last 10 years at various gauges) with absolutely no problem whatsoever. For some reason, when i play between the 12th-15th on my A, D and B strings, I get a dull twang to the point where you can't even hear the note.
Once I move outside of those 12-15 frets, it sounds completely fine...
    Help!

Did you change string gauges? Sounds like you've got the truss rod too tight, and the neck is back bowed.

I agree with Tbone. Try loosening the Truss rod a 1/4 turn. Check the string height as well. Saddles may need to be radiused to neck radius specs

Thanks! I'm not sure I'm comfortable adjusting the truss rod myself, I'll bring it in to get checked out, thanks!

It's easy to do! Try this ... safer than meeting up with other people these days
