Help me pick my next guitar. Suhr Modern Plus vs. Majesty-95656303_10158330384847889_5945090093285900288_o-jpg

My play style: melodic metal lead. Think Andy Timmon's 'Cry for you' / Steve Vai's "For the love of god". I like the buttery sounding smooth lead sound (reference: Cry for You - Andy Timmons - YouTube).

Here are the pros/cons I've been able to ascertain so far:

-- The Suhr has more clarity in tone, and is more suited to a variety of styles.
-- The Majesty plays easier and is more comfortable.
-- The Majesty offers better sustain via a neck-through design and a 20db boost.
-- The Suhr comes in a roasted maple neck
-- The Majesty might be harder to position shift due to the neck finish
-- The Majesty doesn't "feel like a guitar" lol, 2 people said that.

One question: How is string bending / vibrato on the Majesty?

Outside of that, if you had that specific play style in mind, which would you choose? (I can't try them both, no one is open right now, agh).

Here the answer might be biased I’m afraid and probably same on the other side

Sorry can’t help as I never played any of them. But I’m sure some lads will help you.

It’d be hard to find a guitar that plays as easy as a Majesty.
I’m sure you could swap those pros and cons either way. Get the one that speaks to you the most.

It's something very subjective. No matter what info you gather the reality may, and most likely be very far from it.

You either find the guitars and test-drive them or you trust a shot in the dark.

For what it's worth, I think both guitars will fit the bill. The Majesty has some extra perks (unreal piezo system, gain boost, in my opinion the best floating bridge on the market).

However, you mentioned two players that play Ibanez guitars. Maybe that says something...

The only way you're really going to know is to play both of them.

The Majesty is a pretty radical guitar vs the Suhr. Have you looked into a JP as well?

That being said, the Majesty is the best playing guitar I own. I’ve emulated Timmon’s tone with it too, but that’s more due the Mesa Boogie.
