    Wood grain or crack?

I bought my Silhouette Special new about 5 years ago and just noticed what looks like a crack on the neck. Always kept guitar in it's case inside the house and it's never been traumatized. Finish feels smooth so I'm hoping it's just wood grain.

Welcome, to me it looks like just wood grain. Had you never noticed it before?

You know Pete, it doesn't exist without real pictures, Hahahahahaha.

That's wood grain. Those are sometimes called "mineral streaks". You can see a bunch on the back of this guitar's neck:

2007 Stingray 5 HS Cherry Burst / Maple FB / 3 Band EQ / Ceramic Pickups
    2012 Stingray 5 H Pearl Blue / Rosewood FB / 3 Band EQ/ AlNiCo Pickup

2012 Luke III SSH Vintage Sunburst / Rosewood Neck
