    NGD - BFR Sabre

I was impressed with the Sabre when it first came out, and I heard the demos. Then, they dropped the Coral Blue BFR with the rosewood neck, and that did it for me. Just arrived today. I threw it on my Pocket GT (moving, so my amp is in storage) with some headphones, and it sounds fantastic out of the box. Plus that neck... oh my word. My BFR Axis has a poly finished neck, so this is the first EBMM I've had that has the tru-oil and wax finish. I now understand what the hype is about - it feels amazing!

I know the deal, pictures or it didn't happen:

Finally, next to my BFR Axis:

...and some other, lesser, non-MM guitars.

It's symmetric (Axis is an asymmetric carve), and somewhat thinner, I'd say. The Axis is more similar to a Fender Strat neck, albeit with the asymmetry. From what I understand about Ibanez necks (haven't played one myself), the Sabre is probably closer in profile to Ibanez than Fender.

I love the way both feel. I haven't yet played the Sabre enough to decide which I prefer, between the two.
