"Not Even Slinky" With Standard Tuning

I am currently using Beefy Slinky strings (with standard E tuning) on my Les Paul and Stratocaster. I'm thinking of trying Not Even Slinky strings instead, in an effort to give my fingers a little workout.

Has anyone tried using Not Even Slinky strings with standard E tuning? Will it damage the necks of my Les Paul or Strat? Will it take any special setup?

Beefy's & Not Evens are typically used when de-tuning occurs quite a bit. Though, there's not a problem in using them for standard E tuning .. just not sure if it's the optimal set you're looking for.
Are you looking for a "finger workout" as far as bending goes on your plain strings?

hey.. srv could do with .13's... even though he detune 1/2 step

i tried my bros fender with .13's on.. detuned.. and they were a biaitch to cope with.. even for me used to bass strings

but if it suits you, then ill be more than happy to sell ya a set

I like the Beefy's when I bend the plain strings, but I want to feel a little more resistance when I finger straight on all of the strings. For the past year or so, I've noticed a marked decrease in the speed and control of my fingers. It seems that it is better when I practice on an acoustic guitar, so I'm trying to make my electrics play a little bit more like an acoustic guitar.

Well i use GHS 11-70 without the 70 and an 42 as an A so its a 11-52 set(thats almost like a beefy), for standard and drop D tuning. i just bought a Not Even Slinky set, that im gonna use for a whole step down, and drop c tuning. once i used 13-48 standard tuning, thats insane... 11-52 is just me..
