    Short scale legnth bass strings

..I checked the EB site..none are listed that I see...but maybe my eye sight has really gone that bad LOL.
So the question is, does EB make short scale length strings?
If not, is there a stepdown near the ball end?
...oh the Ernie Ball 2837 Slinky Silhouette Short-Scale 6-String Bass Strings will not work for my needs.

According to D'Acme's site, string gauge is the same for both Long and Short scale.

To answer the original question, no, EB doesn't make short scale strings.

However, I do believe you should be able to do it with a regular set of strings. Just be sure to have a pair of string cutters with you. I think the short scale just purposefully makes the strings shorter for easier installation.

Besides the 2837s that you mentioned, all the bass strings are long scale. The problem with clipping the ends off to make them short is you lose the tapered ends, making the strings too thick to install in most cases.

Yeah that's what I was afraid of. Thanks much for the answer.
