String tension of Classic Slinkys is greater than Super Slinkys

i have been an avid user of classic slinkys (9-42) and i have used these strings exclusively on my fender standard strat since i first bought a set way back when they first came out. i will not put anything else on my strat as the feel of the pure nickel wrap and the tone i get is the best string i've tried for that guitar. recently, i bought a music man axis and luke and the first thing i did was put on a set of the classic slinkys. i noticed that the tone wasn't as matched on the luke and axis and i noticed that the tension was a little tight. i then took those off and put on a set of super slinkys onto the axis and luke, and low and behold, the tension was much lighter (i could bend farther and vibrato was easier to apply) and the tone was much better suited (nickel wrap as opposed to 100% pure nickel wrap). just wanted to post these findings here and see what you guys thought.

they are identical...it is the brighter sound of the pure nickels that make you feel what you are feeling.

Interesting how the sound of the strings changes how you think they play... Stainless Slinkies feel higher tension than Regular to me - is this true, or just another perception thing?
