    Exclamation Skinny Top, Heavy Bottoms

alright so im a big fan of these strings

but i was born with a problem, and that problem is my hands sweat like crazy here and there, and of course it causes my strings to get really nasty looking really quickly, and it would cause them to rust as well. I would even clean them with string cleaner, but all that did was slow down the process.

So i was looking around and I saw that ernie ball makes stainless steel guitar strings and that would be great for me since they wouldnt rust as quickly, But I noticed they dont make a Skinny Top, Heavy bottom in stainless steel.

What do I do? I cant go to a lower gauge just because im not sure how well they would fit since my nut is adjusted for high tops, and also i dont want to go to a lower gauge, I like STHB.

And I saw on the site that they sell singles of all gauges in strings, but they only sell singles in 6 packs. So if i ordered the gauges i wanted I would spend ALOT.

For some reason they dont sell anything below 20, in singles that are stainless steel.

What can I do? Where can I get STHB in stainless steel

I know it may sound strange, but do you wash your hand before playing? If you keep your hands clean you won't sweat so much - at least it's worth to try it out. Plus you can use towel or tissues in while it's break in playing to dry your hands. I had a guitar student some time ago who had common issue...for him my advices worked

PS. I also use 10-52 for D Standard tuning.

Hey Dark....welcome to the forum!! The reason the Stainless singles don't go below 20 is because they are strictly wound strings. You would use our standard plain strings, which are made using tin plated steel. While we only sell our singles in packs of six via the website, most local dealers break those packs up and sell them individually. Check with your local EB Dealer, or shoot us an email and we'll put you in touch with a dealer in your area: customerservice@ernieball.com (keep in mind we are out of the office until Monday) Also I would highly recommend having you pick up some of our Wonder Wipe String Cleaner...which is ideal for anyone who suffers from heavy perspiration and will certainly greatly extend the life of your strings.

Hope you hang around the forums and have some fun!!

BTW Kevin could you please share one more thing with us. I'm thinking about WW fretboard conditioner and I have one question to that: Can I use it while strings are on the guitar? Does it affect on strings life and sound? I'm rookie when it comes those matters. Usually I was giving my guitar to the luthier from time to time to get all that things done. This time I'm not going to let anybody touch my EB

Oh and one more question Does Ernie Ball think about PRS 10 to 52?

    best,
    Mike

do you remember the Chicago song Look Away? Replace those lyrics with Wipe Away It does affect the strings life.....extends it a bit, not to the same degree as the String Cleaner but it does help to remove any toxens that may be on the strings....so I say to you...."If you see me walking by...with a dirt fretboard why...Wipe Away Emkey Wipe Away....If we meet in the world someday...with a dirty fretboard hey..Wipe Away Emkey Wipe Away"

I imagine you mean RPS 10-52's, we always get tons of requests for new gauge offerings in a particular set. But thats exactly why Ernie started selling single strings many years ago....so you could mix and match. We also have Reinforce Plain Strings available in single packs.
The wound strings are our Nickel Wounds
Now its time to check my fantasy team....Big Game this week!!

have you approached them abot placing a special order for you? E-mail us your zip code and we'll put you in touch with a store that can help you out. Or you can always go with shopatron.......pick up 6 sets and you'll be set for a while. At the very least I would suggest having you pickup some of our Wonder Wipe String cleaner.

    Cheers!

Yeah tell me where to send my email and zip

and as for wonder wipes. They dont really work much. They do so-so but it doesnt change the fact that my strings are rusted after 3 to 4 weeks. Sometimes sooner when i play more
