Most new electric guitars come strung with strings similar to EB Super Slinkies: .009, .011, .016, .024, .032 and .042.
NES's need more tension to tune to standard pitch. They will be a lot more difficult to play, but will have more volume and more tone.
Their main usefulness (I suspect) will be for guitarists who tune their guitars below standard pitch.
My old music teacher has been in the business for 30 years, Dolly Parton band manager and all over Nashville. He was in the LMS the other day to purchase a used guitar for a student and I was realy surprised when he told the clerk to replace the strings with EBMM strings. I suppose he thought they were the best.
just awaiting
