Thumbs down Recently aquired new bass, what gauge will fit?

    I have recently acquired a 6 stringed bass a shine WWB846.
the problem is that it is stringed through body and don't know if the ball will fit through the end also i don't want to replace the nut.
i was wondering if anyone had suggestions for gauge, or some way of working out what gauge to use. Any help would be much appreciated.

Well you can simply measure the slots in the nut but there must be a website for you to check the manufacturers specs somewhere. I would imagine that a set of Ernie Ball 6 string bass guitar Slinky would probably be perfect, unless your bass is a longer scale then use the long scale set.
