I have to change these RPS 9's once a week. I have been playing an hour or more every day, but the non RPS's seem to last longer.
Thoughts?

I think it depends on how you look after your strings,
where you store your guitar
how much residue/sweat your hands produce
and and and....
I get months and months out of my strings, and I've only had 1 duff string in 16 years of playing the ball end came off on tuning - poop happens!, I couldn't match that return/failure rate in my business if I had a 2nd team checking what the first did...
Sorry Hendog, from where I sit your on your own..
Well you did ask!

I hate to tell you this but I would use this as a lesson in expressing opinions on the internet....they are exactly the same....exactly the only difference is that we reinforce the plain strings...Also 28 hours of serious playing is expecting a lot.....

I personally "love" fresh strings anyway!!!!
However, my Super Slinkies will last waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay longer than any other string out there - bar none!! And, in addition I use PURE Nickel Classic Rock n Roll.
Time tested - love em"!!!
And I would like to add that my 17 years old son plays his guitar almost 24/7 with a break for studying, eating and sleeping. He has sweathy palms and he was killing Da44ario's within 4 days!! Ever since I have switched him on to the EB titanium coated his strings are lasting him months, which I think in his case it is remarkable and the extra money spent on a set of coated EB it's actually a saving when you consider these strings outlast 4 sets of the competition strings.
keep in mind that the rps set is not the coated set the coated set also has reinforced plain strings

I'm not the one who got emotional.
Maybe I should have put a ? at the end of the thread title. I was trying to start a conversation about the RPS strings. They seem to be corroding/rusting within days where my regular EB plain strings used to last for 30 days or so. I was sort of hoping for a trick or method of keeping them going.

hen this is the problem with written word....lets start over as i wasnt emotional...
The only difference between the rps and the regular plain string is the reinforcement at the ball...so many thing can affect string life....humidity temp and smoky rooms.
Probably a good thing to do is to wipe the strings down with a clean cloth after playing.

We've gotten some good feedback from some of our artists that the strings are lasting even longer now with the sealed element shield packaging. Are you guys experiencing any benefits since the packaging changeover?
