I have often wondered this. I buy the 4 pack and add a .130, but it would be nice if you could walk into a GC or other store and purchase a 5 string pack.

Yea and please tell me why the SS Slinky strings do not come in the element shield packaging???
Maybe because they are SS and they don't rust?
But I like the new packaging better!
