Question Check out GHS "new packaging"

I found this funny. "GHS Strings has just introduced new packaging designed to insure freshness and to preserve quality delivery of their string products."

    Correction: they copied EB.

Do they actually make their own strings? I seem to recall something about only three US based string factories, Ernie Ball, D'Addario and a mystery third. Everyone else "outsources" their strings. (And of course Ernie Ball don't make strings for anyone else).

I saw these at Guitar Center, pretty lame of them to do that. But then again, imitation is the most sincere form of flattery, which just shows how awesome Ernie Ball is.

I think DR is made in USA.

WE were happy about Green Day coming aboard. Notice that people join us and few leave?

GHS has been around forever, they are one of the originals. Been around since the early 60's.

Along with EB, some of the companies that actually make their own strings are GHS, LaBella, SIT, D'Addario, DR, Dunlop, and D'Aquisto. Fender too I guess, but not in the USA.

I've tried all of the above and still use Slinky's on my guitar

when i first started playing 20+ years ago i was advised on strings and was told EB's were incredible... so i tried them exclusively for 10-11 years and thought... why haven't i tried other brands... i tried another brand (i think D'Addario) and had a set of EB's just in case... i think i played 'em for about 15-20 minutes and then cut 'em off. They just didn't feel right to me... so i strung it up with EB's and haven't wavered since... it's great to know a product will not let you down and is so consistent. Thanks BP
