Need Advice re: Nylon Ball End Guitar Strings

We bought my daughter (she's 3) a very inexpensive classical guitar for Christmas. Upon delivery, I noticed that 2 of the strings were broken. I bought new EB Nylon Ball End Guitar Strings today but would like some advice before restringing the guitar myself. Any tips and/or web links that could help me out? The guitar is very small so I'll likely have to cut the strings short ... any science to this?

    Thanks, everyone.

I'd change all the strings if I were you, not just the broken ones.

I'd ignore the instructions for knotting the strings at the bridge, just use the ball ends.

Cut the strings a few inches past the post.

Nylon strings take a long time to settle down, so expect to have to retune it a lot after installing the strings.
