    Dead strings

I am at a total loss, I recently have noticed my strings are sounding duller faster than ever before. I have no what to do. Yes, I play all the time, but I don't remember my strings sounding so dead so fast! I welcome any tips or suggestions. I just changed strings on one of my Strats (standard EB 10's). And they sound "thuddy" they don't have that new string snap and sparkle. It has not even been a week yet! Help please.

Are your frets nicely crowned and clean? Oxidation on the frets can wear the strings more, so you lose more "sparkle" on the top end of the sound faster.
