Anybody heard the new Deep Purple album "Rapture of the Deep"? I'm not sure if it features the new amp but I assume Steve used the Y2D on it. I had a quick listen and what I've heard is good.

Yea I heard some of it. It sounds pretty awesome to me. It might even possibly be better than their previous album Bananas. I am a huge fan, and that's where I discovered Morse. I dont know about what gear he used on this album, but I am guessing as well that it's most likely the new gear, or maybe a mix of all kinds of his stuff.
^^ most of what he said.I'm aslo a huge fan and discovered Morse through Deep Purple. But I seriously doubt he used the Y2D on the Rapture of the Deep, 'cause the guitar is a 2005, and the album came out in October, which means that it was probably ready lots of months ago, but they had to do studio work or whatever... Anyway, I'm not so amazed by the album... IMHO By sound it's totaly similar to Bananas, but I still can't decide which is better... umm... MACHINE HEAD

BTW then I seriously doubt he used ENGL on the ROTD...![]()
Steve's been messing around with prototypes for about a year now so it's possible a Y2D is on it. Haven't heard it as I don't own any Steve era DP albums.
...but I'm pretty well stocked on his solo stuff.![]()
Wonder how long the ENGL deal has been in the werks?

I know Steve had a Y2D at the April '05 show in NY. I know he was using the Y2D at previous shows.....I think it could have been used on the album...![]()
"Welcome to the addiction!" is now patented by Koogie2k......if used by anyone other than Koogie2k....you must mail him a US nickel for each time said/typed or signed.......

I've been listening to ROTD for a couple of weeks now (since it came out over here) and love it. As with many albums there is some rubbish towards the middle/end of the disc but on the whole I think it's great. I haven't heard any of bananas yet but i have Purpendicular and much prefer ROTD to that.
Morse's solo stuff is very hard to find over here so I'm starting to find my way into his playing with his Purple stuff. I have major impacts 2 but wasn't very impressed with that.
I say it's a winner.![]()
2001 Axis, Honey Burst.
2005 Luke LE, Buttercream.
I went to 3 record stores (do they call them that anymore?) and noboby had it.
I might have to try Amazon!![]()

Similar to Bananas, some good riffs too (anyone remember riffs?) I'd recommend it for sure.Originally Posted by fogman

Go to www.stevemorse.com and check out his notes from the road letter dated Jan. 21. A snip quote ref. the "Rapture" tour "I was pleased to find that my new Y2D guitar from Ernie Ball/Musicman sounds perfect with the rig. "Originally Posted by Roubster
Nice plug ref. the Biffs Babys gig in December too.
Congrats to all,
