    Greatest Solo's ever?

Was thinking about this today in the car whilst listening to Floyd's "Comfortably Numb"

What would you consider to be (if this is possible) your top 5 favorite guitar (or bass) solos ever?

1/ Pink Floyd - Comfortably Numb (Both solos)
2/ Dream Theater - The Spirit Carries on
3/ Vai - For the Love of God
    4/ Toto - Rosanna
5/ Steve Lukather - Little Wing (I think that counts)
    2006 Dargie Delight Luke
2005 Ltd Edition JP6 with Piezo in Buttercream
2000 Trans Gold Standard Quilt Axis
    2006 Ibanez PGM 301
    Custom made EVH Frankenstrat
    Custom made SRV Number 1
    Ibanez Jem 777DY
Feed your obsession...Hear your obsession...choose Ernie Ball Musicman...

    Agree on Numb.
I always loved Page's ACHILLES LAST STAND solo.
The solo in THE GREAT SPECTACULAR by Steve Morse is close to perfection.
Jeff Beck's "Cause we ended as Lovers" maybe.
Something from Satriani has to be on the list, I'm just not sure where to start.

Livin' On A Prayer - Bon Jovi

    Hotel California - The Eagles

Still Got The Blues - Gary Moore

Overture 1928 (second solo) - Dream Theater

    etc.

I can't have a list without "Freebird" on there somewhere. Maybe some SRV, Satriani and Randy Rhodes, too. I'll have to think on this one!

    My favorite solo.

Steve Hackett on the Genesis song "Firth Of Fifth".

    Ritchie
Due to the avalanche of medical bills I have had this year, I am currently "without balls".

It's been quite a while since I last listened to Selling England By The Pound. It's time to put it on and have a listen.

    Just teasing you man!

I know what you're thinking - this kind of joke from the guy who put down "Freebird"?

Indeed they do! One of the best bands you never hear about unless someone you know fills you in. Glad to see someone across the pond digging them, too!
