    Modifying Old EB Volume Pedal

I have an older EB volume pedal with the in/out on the side. I'm wondering what would be involved in adding a tuner output to that pedal. I realize it would involve drilling a new hole for the jack, but what about the wiring? Anybody have any advice/ideas? Many thanks. -jq

Just need a direct out. Not sure how to do that, but I'm pretty sure it's not that hard, as you would just send the signal in 2 paths. From input to direct out and from input to the pedal itself (so to say). If you do a direct out (pre pedal modulation), that should be the easiest and you would be able to volume down the output and still get volume to the tuner (so audience and such don't hear while you tune).

Thanks Eric for the reply. Just wondering if splitting it off the pot will degrade the signal in any way. I'm totally not an electrophile.

Not sure how you'd split it off. I would suggest splitting the signal right after the jack though.

I would imagine that as its a passive pedal, you will see some loss of top end and overall signal.

Thanks guys. I wonder how the tuner output is wired in the newer models of these pedals. There must be some extra circuitry added besides just slapping another jack in there. Is there even an advantage/difference to running your tuner off the volume pedal as opposed to just running it inline with the rest of your pedals?

Does EB offer circuit diagrams on the site? I know some companies do.

I thought of that but dismissed it... that'd be WAY too convenient!

...tip-toeing off to see if that stuff is available.

Any of you out there that are curious about VP schematics just shoot me an email!

Jq - I would suggest just getting a new pedal with the tuner/out option. Why run the risk of jacking up your pedal? Besides that, if it's an older one now ... it will be vintage in the future - keep it original!

That's the most sensible thing I've heard yet... and those Jr. models are affordable too.

    Thanks Jodi
