    John 5

Any of you guys ever heard him? He's best known as the former guitarist for Marilyn Manson, Rob Halford, etc. I just got his album "Songs for Sanity" tonight and it's AWESOME! There's even a song featuring Albert Lee, and another with Steve Vai. You guys really should check him out. Heres a song:

Even if this song isn't up your alley, check his stuff out, he has something for everyone

He also did some great playing when he used to be in K.D. Lang's band

    ...that's right, K.D. Lang's band.

yep I've liked him since he was in KD's band, great player. Really diverse stuff, he is so talented. I have his 3 solo cd's, but his best playing ive heard is on the David Lee Roth cd he did, ( DLR band?) GREAT songs and tones. His tone with his sig tele is odd i think, original though.

The cd he did with Leah Andreone is great too. Wish he played on her first cd, its one of my favourites.

Death Valley ( feat Albert Lee) is COOL!

    I dig John 5
He's just a bit different and portrays the whole character as Manson's and now Rob Zombies side man, but most of the articles and interviews I've read indicate he's just a guy who's really into the guitar. He's mentioned that even when on tour he'll check around locally and try to take lessons.

I've got both Songs for Sanity and his first album Vertigo. Interesting listening to go literally from chuggachugga/speed licks to chick'n pick'n country tunes on a track by track basis (Even his take on old time classics like Arkansas Traveler and Sweet Georgia Brown are on Vertigo). And as Rob mentioned the Death Valley track feturing Albert on S F S is great.

I saw him when Zombie came to town last year and his game was ON! A hell of a show nearly ending in a riot.

    A kinder, gentler collection...
