    Paul Gilbert

Saw PG at JBs in Dudley last night. What a fantastic show and what a truly awesome player. Very good song selection (loved the Mr Big tunes) and fantastic band (Mrs Gilbert in particular...why was Linda McCartney never that good!!)

I am glad the G3 tour didnt come over here now if it would have meant having to sit through another dull Satch set (sorry, but they aint as good as they used to be) cos it meant that PG was touring solo and giving us the full 2 hours (although i wouldnt have said no to JP turning up for a jam at some point ).

    Anyway, my verdict....5 stars

2007 is turning out to be a great year to see guitarists, Luke, Steve Morse, Paul Gilbert and I still have Alex Lifeson and Prince to look forward to

I have been turned onto Pablo Gilberto over the past couple of years... what ana amzing guy.

as for Mr.Big... I'm sweatin' learning up a 6 song "Big" set right now for when I back up Eric Martin on the 23rd........ sheesh, trying to 'fake' Sheehan riffs, yep, me thinks some spirits will be needed before show time

as for Satch though, I really dug Super Colossal and his show here in Vancouver was really good (blew away a certain Mr. Jxxxson)

would still love to see Paul in concert though.

No i didnt take my camera but i really wish i had cos it was a tiny venue so i could have got some great shots. I am hoping that he is filming one of his shows for a DVD release cos it really would be worth seeing again.

Its the second time I have seen PG, i saw him originally back in 93 when he was with Mr Big. That was one of the best shows i ever saw...PG and Billy Sheehan, what more could you ask for!

    trussrod adjustment:
less relief / flatter = lower action
more relief / bow = higher action
do NOT use cheap tools to adjust with. they might break and scrape up your pressious!
also, if you are lucky enough to have a 100th namm sr4: the truss works the other way around on that one!

Ahh, Pablo. You know we claim him here in Western Pennsylvania, right? I mean he was born elsewhere but raised here in Greensburg which is about 25-30 minutes outside of Pittsburgh. I wish he'd move back here and give private lessons. Or just move back here and drink beer with me. I'm not picky.

I caught the G3 show in Reno this year -PG was amazing, I had actually heard comparatively little of him until then (I went primarily to see / hear JP) - what a show, PG certainly kicked major arse....JP was as excellent,as expected, but Gilbert was an unexpected surprise.....
Four hours of those guys, it was an experience that will be impossible to top.

I have four or five of Paul Gilbert's solo cds. Great stuff. Catchy pop songs with ripping solos. His lyrics are great, and you can tell that the albums were a lot of fun to make.

I'd love to see him live, again. I was at the infamous Mr Big show in Atlanta when his hair tried to eat the drill.

And, if you haven't gone to it, his website is one of the funnier ones I've been to.

He loves Photoshop and has a wicked sense of humor.

Pablo rocks no doubt. We all know he can shred, but his solo stuff is catchy as hell!

One of the best things he did as an artist was leave Mr. Big...the stuff he does on his own is much more interesting to me.
