So, did anyone elsepick up Devin Townsend's mad space opera then? I was in buying the 20th Anni version of Whitesnake 87 and Systematic Chaos when I saw it was out. I'd wondered what his solo work was like, sinve the Vai band era, and the muppet pulp comic style cover sold it to me. And I love it to bits! The humour and the plot is just insane with some trully memorable quotes ("I am so omniscient, if there was to be two omnisciences, I would be both of them"). It's Zappa meets Vai meets Metallica with a sprinkling of Jeff Wayne's War Of The Worlds and I can wholeheartedly recommend it if you want something totally off the wall. In fact, it's stopped me listening to the other two CDs!
