    Jeff Healey

I've been blown away by this guy from the first time I saw him on Johnny Carson. I've been lucky enough to see him perform live twice.

I was in NY on a training thing (in 2003 I think) and went to Canada during my free time and found out we misssed Lucious jamming with him at his club Healeys in Toronto by a couple of days! What I would have given to hear that set!

Lucious...I'd love to hear your take on that gig if you read this.

    A couple of my favorites...

Jeff Healey is amazing. I saw him live opening for ZZ Top in 1990, and he brought the house down!

He appeared on Hard Rock live years ago, and did a version of Angel by Jimi Hendrix. His is my favorite version of that song....just beautiful.

I had it on video, but I lost it during a move a couple years ago.

I seen the same Carson show, and came away with the same amazement!!

I've been a fan of his since his first album, seen him play quite a few times. Luke plays with him in Toronto at Healey's bar every so often too. Now THAT would be a great show.

I remember seeing Jeff perform on the Arsenio Hall show years ago. He played "I Think I Love You Too Much". What a rip-roaring version that was! Jeff's Live at Montreux dvd is awesome as well. Especially his cover of "While My Guitar Gently Weeps"

One of my favorite concert-going memories was in Atlanta in the late 80s (I think). I saw Jeff Healey do a label showcase gig at a tiny club called the White Dot, where I stood about six feet from him the entire show. It was an early show, and I think he played everything on his first record. It was staggering. Then I got in the car and drove a mile or so to the Cotton Club to see Living Colour. Jeff Healey and Vernon Reid in one night -- wow.

My wife has relatives in Toronto, I'll have to look up his club next time we're up there. I'd love to see him play live again.

I have been a fan since his first album. Never got to see him live. I always think of what great parents and friends he must have had by just letting him play his own way and not saying,"No NO NO you are supposed to hold it like this!"

Was a fan since I was a young punk. Since See The Light was released, and he got that first Grammy nomination. After his didn't win, I swore off the Grammys... Whahahaha...

One of the major influences in my life's music.

RIP Jeff Healey. I never met you in person, but I know your music, and I thank you for that.

This is really sad. I had no idea he was ill. I was just listening to See the Light over the weekend after posting in this thread last week.

    RIP Jeff.
