I don't think he is forced by his parents, at the end of the article his dad says , "He (the son) drags me around......I don't drag him around."

By the look of the kids picture there, it looks like the Devil forces him to play!?!?

We had a kid like that in our area here, Monster Mike Welch, great player and he loves doing it.

His parents never pushed him, it was his call.

It's a shame about Tyler, but I guess that's life. He still seems to surf here, this is from his profile page "

So, what, can the kid not perform at all, or just in bars/clubs? Either way, with talent like that, he'll find a way to shut people up and just let loose.

My God, when I was 8, I built stuff out of LEGO and didn't know anything about music; let alone Satriani!

First off, what C suckers for even giving a Sh*t. If any of these corporate or state agencies embraced a natural talent in a person of such a young age, this country would be a lot better off. They are so quick to tell someone they can't do something for some lame ass reason. The state and most of the Government can go EAD !

That kid can continue to rock on and forget what people say or do.

If you got it, flaunt it. Age shouldnt be a barrier, its just insane that people are stopping him performing.

You know if it were one of my kids that had the talent and they wanted to do it I would let them. But school and being a kid would come first always.

Doesn't sound that bad after watching those tiny athletes on the olympics, especially that one who only sees her parents once a year since the age 3.
