Little known fact, when Cookie Monster tried out for the lead vocalist slot in Dr Teeth and the Electric Mayhem they politely told him "We're not a death metal band"...
That being said, to each his own - just don't take my parking space...

i love metal but i am so sick of the raaaa, raaaa raaaa, throaty crap.i have to over look it all the time.i've been listening to unearth lately, and love the music and ideas they have musically, but .....sing damn it sing.
this was supposed to go on the dead in christ thread.
put sebstian bach, or ripper owens in to sing for some of these raaa, raaar, throaty bands and now your kickin ass.
i am into hard rock/metal, such as rammstein, pantera, metallica, and a lot of things along that lines... it is not only impossible to understand what they are saying, but the music has no charisma or direction. its just loud and screaming... the whole time, seems like theres not much of a climax. just my 2 cents, nobody hang me please![]()

I wish people would learn that if you can sing good, you can scream good, and if you can do both, then you might have a shot at making that agressive sound you are going for work.
