Hi Jack, I bought your natural AX20 a while back. I love that thing! I can tell the difference in resonance with the hard-tail. I took the 10's off and put some 9's and set it up a little lower and it plays great (it played great before but... I have to mess with my guitars to make em mine I guess!). I have a great veneer maple quilt I'm testing on spare wood. Then I may try to put it on your natural to see how it will come out. I'm in over my head though I think so we'll see! Hmmm...sounds expensive for a Benji. There's a silo in the Boston Craigslist for $700 (and an AL for $900)......not that I'm looking......(and a peavey wolfgang evh in black for $700).....again...not that I'm looking. The Benji only has a single pickup. I'd play one first.....although that's my rule for any guitar. I won't buy until I play it for enough time to understand it.

I have not seen big drops in EBMM's used yet, but Fender Americans are dropping like a rock. I'm travelling on business in the car tomorrow out 100 miles, so searched the craigslists in CT. Fender american metal strat for $375, nice american tele for $700......none of these were below $1k 3 months ago. Lots below $650. (I've never owned a Fender, but they're a good gauge since there's so many of them). Now....if I can find an Axis for under $600 or a Wolfgang for $500....I'll have to start thinking up more excuses for the wife.

Or the forearm contour. I used to not care about them, but I've really become a fan of the Silo Special body shape.

I actually did own a SUB 1 at one time, and while I liked the tone, I didn't like the weight. They've always hit me a little heavy. It a subjective thing though.

I'm actually trying to just save my money up. There is a used EBMM Benji at an online retailer for $799, and I'd really like to get that one. It's not so much the name. It's the pickup combo, the body style, and the color. I love that metal flake green.

Auction ended without a $199 bid. I'm not surprised....they sold for less than that new. That being said....when I had mine setup...the guy did not know the brand and guessed that it cost me $400. When I told him I paid $100 for it, he was stunned.

For the $400, you could find a real Sub1 if you look around hard enough. And the sub1 is waaaay more of a guitar. The only drawback (in my opinion) is that the sub1 doesn't have the maple fretboard.

I just put my Jackson up for sale on Craigslist locally, but that's the only guitar I've currently got up for sale.
