Can I oil the neck without waxing?

I found the Birchwood-Casey Gunstock Oil at WallyWorld along with some 0000 steel wool but I couldn't find any Gunstock Wax. My question is if I can oil the neck, smooth it out with the steel wool and skip the wax for now?

You can indeed. With fine enough steel wool, it shines up right nice.

The wax probably makes the shine last longer (what else would it do?) but yep, you can get a really nice feel without it.

did u see any B.& C. sheen & conditioner ????? use it after the oil is applied. it will make the neck silky smooth & very shiney. AMAZING stuff too. if you don't like the result....simply steel wool it back to flat........
