Probably the silliest question ever asked here...

    Hi folks,

I was just wondering about something and was unable to find the answer, even in the MusicMan basses FAQ.

It is about the preamp of the 3-band SR4 models.
Does this preamp work cut/boost like that of the Sterling/SR5, or is it boost only (like old Rays) ?

Sorry for this stupid question, and many thanks !

    Cheers
    Jay

    >>>but the 2 band is cut/boost

That's my understanding aswell. The two band is both cut and boost although the treble and bass controls have no centre detent.

They certainly do not. Have the detent, I mean. I'm, ahem, out of shape with these things!

Gotta get back to work on finding my 2band tone!

Now what else would go on a white bass with rosewood neck and matching headstock?

Tort would look real nice, I think barkatoz has the same color and fingerboard combination but with a Black Pearloid guard. I think thats just as cool as the tort.

IMHO that 2 band info on cut and boost is getting harder to dig out to this forum.

It should be in the faq. I figure it is a reasonable question to ask and so many know it should be topside or faq.

Dumb question? I don't even know enough to understand the question. I just play these things and turn the shiney knobs until I get the sound I like.
