Yes, and you didn't get more than a tiny taste of what he can do. Simply one of the best out there. Keep checking his website. Might be a possibility to catch him live around NAMM '06. If you don't have a copy of his cd "Hub City Kid", you can get one via his website www.davelarue.com

Dave needs to update the bio portion of his website. It talks about things coming out in 2002, and doesn't mention the Bongo.

I'm sure he has a lot of free time!

Hmmm, Sat. 11/12 is very tempting, they're opening for a Zappa cover band..how crazy is THAT gonna be (wish it was a headline gig though). Last Dregs tour, Dave was on fire, best I ever heard him. He is truly an amazing professional. What's "Stretch" like? I caught Dave last year or so when he played with Glenn Alexander. They were good, but Dave gets to really shine with the Dregs.

    Adam,
Chuck & Jorge (both from "Aftershock") will be at the Philly gig and Chuck was effusive in his comments recently on the Steve Morse Mailing List about Project Object. I saw Stretch in their early days with Dave on bass, Glenn on guitar and Van on drums - they were awesome but, of course, no comparison to SMB - Steve just takes them to a much higher level. I image that Glenn is still with Stretch but his website didn't have the dates. In more recent years, Dave and Glenn have teamed with a drummer as LAX. Dave's website is often out of date - he's got chronic issues with webmasters, however, his tourdates are usually kept fairly up to date. The Dregs are in a category by themselves. To quote Darren... 'nuff said.

I know the feeling. I had the opportunity to study with him for a little while here in Orlando FL at Bass Central. He is an amazing player and a great teacher. His lessons are still in my head to this day.
