Steve, for some strange reason I believe you did this. I'm more concerned however about the person that bought it. Maybe it was Heath the Great that bought it and is now on a forum called "Talk Quarters".

It's true and Jack knows the buyer.

And I sort of know what happened to the quarter, although I'm not entirely sure where that bass is now.

Wouldn't touch that bass; there's a pick guard screw missing. Geez, why can't people learn to take proper care of a true one of a kind like that?
bovinehost: Yes, I do agree with that, but if there's nothing wrong then there's nothing wrong.
Beth: I would compare Bongo to Tommy Lee Jones. Bad a$$ and just hot in a weird way...
cheezewiz: They should take their lace thongs off and play bass.

    Stingray 5 Classic, coral red
Bongo 5 H, Dargie Delight, in some cave somewhere...
Bongo 5 HH, Black w/ rosewood neck
Heinz The Wonder Bass, going back to Jack...

Yes you owner, you need to take good care of your piece of firewood because one day it may not be around too take care of you.

Oh Well some poor guy will get talked into buying it, Maybe we'll see him here next week wondering why his stripped trus rod was Metric

    lol!

Seriously, I wonder where this bass came from? I mean, someone somewhere went to a lot of trouble making it appear to be a Music man...
The strange things remind me of those early japanese guitars where you'd be sure they only had some pictures to copy the bass or guitar from, so the thickness would be off, the sunburst wouldbe really ugly and the hard ware didn't always work too well.
