    Pog, welcomes from the U.S.

The serial number seems unusually high to be pre- Ernie Ball, perhaps it was an early Ernie Ball Music Man StingRay bass. The problem is that no official records exist for instruments in that time period.

I am sure Gav/Rod Trussbroken will want to weigh in on this one, but in the meantime you can check out his unofficial (but very useful) website here to learn more: Home - Musicmanbass.org, Music Man, Musicman, Music Man Bass, Musicman Bass, Music Man Guitar

If you want to purchase a pickguard, we have black, white, and tortoise shell available. Please contact me at dan@ernieball.com.

Dave, welcome to the Forum. Your bass was completed on January 13 1995. It has a Natural Ash Velvet (matte) finish with a rosewood fretboard. Originally shipped to Guitar Center Hollywood.

Marc - this beast was completed on 4/19/01 and shipped to Big Dude's right there in your town. It is a Black Sparkle StingRay 5 with a rosewood board and was shipped with a white pickguard. Buying it?

I think so... Is there any way to tell if it came with a white pup cover?

Yes - if it had a white pickguard it would have a white pickup cover.

    Hi Dan

I'm really curious about the 2 SRs that I have. Serial numbers 32989 & 57219. Any and all details would be welcome, especially about the Blue Burst; I'm curious if this was one of the last ones with this finish. Thanks for your help!
