Sure, your Bongo 4 HS in Black was completed on 12/01/04 and was originally shipped to Croatia. And a warm welcome to the Forum!
Cool

Hello from France Dan,
Me again
What can tell me about a Stingray 5 s/n 53564?
I would like to know : date of birth, woods, color (body and pickguard), neck and fingerboard, pickup, electronics...
I would like to know if the sizes of every elements (especially the neck), are the same than other SR5?
Many thanks for all.
Bye.
Renaud.
Renaud, you're a busy guy! This StingRay 5 is a Natural Ash / maple completed on 6/29/93. Yes, the specifications/size should absolutely be the same as every other StingRay 5 (with the usual slight variation). This bass was originally shipped to your home country.

Hi Dan,
Thanks for your quick answer.
Actually, I'm looking for a great Stingray 5, so I'm looking for... and you help me more than you imagine
I saw pictures of this bass and she is really really very nice.
Could you confim me the neck is birds eyes and the fretboard is rosewood please?
Thanks.
Bye.
Renaud.
Not sure about the birdseye, our records don't tell us anything about that - but I will say that there was a lot more of it to go around back then, so you would often see it on the basses as well as the guitars. And yes, sorry, I should have mentioned that there was a rosewood fretboard on the maple neck

The older "B" serials were used for both Pre-EB and Ernie Ball instruments but no records exist for either. I suspect your Bass is a Pre-EB. There should be three dot markers past the 12th fret and the string retainer should be on the D&G strings (Ernie Ball Basses have 4 dots and the retainer is on the A&D). If a Pre-EB then it should be c.1983. For more accuracy, dates are can be found on the neck heel and in the body pocket but the neck has to be removed to view them. A luthier can do this for a nominal fee. Hope that helps.
