    Thanks Guys.

Jack, your Bass is on my list as a 2002. Would that be correct?

GuelBass, looks like a late 1995.

Jack, the year 2002 is the date EB gave me but it's a couple of years out. Some serials can be out of sequence but 2 years seems a lot. Perhaps they made a typo error. I'll ask again.

New owner of 20th Anniversary SR

    Hi Rod,

Just letting you know some details so you can add my new bass to your list. I'm now the proud owner of a mint condition 20th Anniversary Stingray, A 001895. All the standard specs for a 20th Anniversary, quilted maple top with a maple fretboard. Picked her up off eBay - the seller must have been a collector: she looks as if she has never been played (no fret wear, not a mark on her, no battery included) - but she plays beautifully, and what a sound! It's that classic Stingray growl but with snappier highs and very 'tight' sounding. A bass that plays this well shouldn't be sitting in a glass case, so I'm going to be using this one a lot! I couldn't be happier!

Just a quick question - if there were only 1200-something of these made, as it states on your site, how come my serial number is 1895? Did EB miss out a few numbers, or were there actually more like 2000 of these made, as some other sites seem to think?

    All the best,

    Karl Clews

    Thanks for the info

Re your serial question. They may not have counted from number one.

A good example is the pre-EB 'Ray which starts at 1,000....ie B001000 and not B000001

I don't know the answer but I'll try and fid out
