    Hipshot bongo

    Anyone Hipshot their bongo yet? Will it negatively affect the compensated nut?

    I have Hipshots on all 3 of mine......it fits no different than any other Musicman I've owned.

    Does it wear down the nut when detuning? I am switching from a fiver to four and still need a low D every now and then.

    Got'em on both of my 4's (yes, even Kermit). No noticable difference or abnormal wear. BTW the single H loves the sonics of low D!

    I wouldn't really know because:
    A) I don't have to tune down all that much &
    B) I use all of my basses @ different times & one bass may not get the Hipshot used as much as another bass.
