    Neck Rod Wheel -Range??

My latest Bongo is very different from my other EB's [another Bongo and a 90's Ray]. With the original strings, the neck rod wheel stops short of flattening the board. The wheel is up against the limit just to get to minimal relief [a not-quite-flat board].

My other EB's have plenty of adjustment left when setting minimal relief, and their wheels are easy to adjust. They are strung with D'A Chrome Flats, and LaBella black nylon flats, not low tension strings at all. The Chromes are known for being a bit high tension. My new Bongo is very different. Wheel is at the limit, and the last 3/4 turn is not easy. I sprayed a little lube in there. No difference.

Is this sort of situation within spec? Does the wheel need shimming or the neck need work? I assume BP is at NAMM. Anyone in service dept able to address this issue?
